Brief Account
The local fishing vessel "BELTANE", with two persons suffered engine breakdown about 1.5 miles NNE of Ramsgate, and called the Port Control for assistance. The ILB launched and the "BELTANE" was towed back in to Ramsgate.

Brief Account
Port Control saw man climbing from East Pier onto North Breakwater, at high water, with breaking swell. "Ngwena" and pc "Estuary Warden" asked to stand by & ILB launch initiated. Man turned and making his way back to Pier, being knocked off his feet by swells over the breakwater. ILB arrived on scene as man was being helped back on to the pier by Police Officers.

Brief Account
A small open pleasure boat, with two persons, called HMCG by mobile telephone to advise that they had had engine failure in Sandwich Bay, and requested assistance. HMCG requested ILB launch, and the ILB towed the boat on to the beach where its trailer was parked.

The motor yacht "MARTINIQUE" with three persons, called the Coastguard and requested assistance after she suffered engine failure near the Gull Stream buoy. HMCG requested an ILB launch and the ILB towed "MARTINIQUE" in to Ramsgate.

Brief Account
A member of the public called HMCG to say that her husband was on a yacht in the river Stour, but had expected to be home in the mid afternoon. HMCG mobile had searched part of the river with nothing found, and HMCG requested an ILB launch to search up river on the rising tide. ILB proceeded, but at 2230 hrs HMCG advised that the yacht has been located and the incident resolved. ILB returned to station.

Brief Account
The yacht "SPLASH", with three persons on board called to Ramsgate Port Control to advice that he had lost all power, and steering. The yacht was near the quern bank, and shortly afterwards, went aground. ILB launch was initiated, with HMCG being informed. The ILB towed "SPLASH" off the ground, and then in to Ramsgate Harbour.

Brief Account
"KERICA", with two persons on board, called Port Control on mobile telephone saying that she was aground and listing in the Stour River entrance, and needed assistance. ILB launch was initiated and HMCG informed. ILB found casualty hard aground, and took off female crew member (with dog), landing them at Richborough Quay. Remaining crew member decided to remain with the boat whilst it refloated.

Brief Account
(See account of previous Service). As the tide rose, "KERICA" seemed slow to float, and the man on board called Port Control by mobile telephone, and requested assistance. ILB launched and stood by whilst the yacht refloated, and escorted it in to Ramsgate.

Brief Account
HMCG requested ILB launch following a "999" call reporting a man and woman standing up in a small boat and shouting for help, just off the Belle Vue pub in Pegwell. The area was searched and with investigation by Coastguard Mobile ashore, the incident was eventually classed as a hoax call. ILB returned to station.

Brief Account
On advice from Sandwich Bay Sailing Club that four racing dinghys with six persons were unaccounted for HMCG requested launch of the ILB, followed some minutes later by a request for the AWB. The Lifeboats located the dinghys near the Stour mouth and the ILB escorted them safely into the river. (As the Lifeboats were returning to station, they were diverted to a boat on fire at Richborough Quay)

Brief Account
Whilst returning to station from a previous service, both Lifeboats were diverted on service by HMCG to Richborough Quay, following a 999 call advising that a boat was on fire at the quay. On arrival the lifeboats found the fire service in attendance with the fire under control, and all persons accounted for. AWB returned to station whilst ILB stood by until the Fire Officers had left the burned out boat.

Brief Account
HMCG requested launch of the ILB after Police advised having received a report of at least six persons, fully clothed, in the water off Winterstoke. ILB found several youngsters on the beach, who had been swimming. Confirmed these were the persons concerned and all account for. ILB then returned to station.

A MoP called 999 and advised HMCG that they had seen someone fall from a speedboat in Pegwell Bay. ILB launch was requested. The Port Control identified the speedboat, seeing two occupants paddling it towards the shore. On arrival of the ILB crew found the speedboat "SHATTERED" with two persons, which had broken down and was making it's way to shore. ILB took "SHATTERED" in tow in to Ramsgate.

ILB launched and, on arrival, found that "JASMINE" had beached in Louise Bay. After checking that all was well, ILB towed "JASMINE" off the beach and then back to Ramsgate Harbour.

The motor boat "Smiggy II" with three persons went aground in the Stour Mouth. The yacht "Mirage du Matin", with two persons, went to her assistance, but also grounded. HMCG requested launch of the ILB. At arrival on scene the ILB found both craft fast aground and, having seen all safe, arranged to return on the tide whilst the craft re-floated.

HMCG received a report from a merchant vessel of a yacht apparently aground near the North Goodwin buoy. ILB launch was requested and on arrival on scene the ILB found the yacht "Mirage du Matin" with two persons, just refloating herself on the rising tide. The ILB checked that all was safe and then escorted "Mirage du Matin" clear of the sands and on to a safe northerly course.

Brief Account
The Port Control observed a red flare in Pegwell Bay and identified it to be from the local fishing vessel "NEW DAWN" with one person on board. HMCG were advised, and ILB launched. Meanwhile the Pilot Cutter "Estuary Warden" went into the Bay and stood by until the ILB arrived. On arrival the ILB found "NEW DAWN" with fishing nets around her propeller. Efforts to free the nets were unsuccessful, and the ILB towed "NEW DAWN" in to Ramsgate.

Brief Account
Sail Training Vessel «Queen Galadriel» was in port laying on the marina south breakwater when a crew member became ill with severe stomach pains. An ambulance was called but due to weather the vessel was very lively alongside and para-medics asked for assistance landing the ill person safely. ILB launched, went alongside "Queen Galadriel" and took one ambulance staff and the sick person to meet the ambulance at the inner basin slipway.
