trailer were still at the Western Undercliff and who had

time. Shortly after launch, HMCG located the man walking
along the foreshore and the lifeboats returned to
station.

ILB launched to attend at the re-floating of the Motor Yacht "Sea Envy", aground at Shell Ness. As the casualty floated there was some concern as to whether she was taking water and AWB launch was requested to bring a salvage pump on scene. However, "Sea Envy" was found to be seaworthy and after being escorted clear of Shell Ness she proceeded up river unassisted.

AWB Escorting Dunkirk Little Ships from Ramsgate to Dunkirk. Diverted from escort to the Dunkirk vessel "Chumley", in difficulties with fuel problem. AWB took "Chumley" in tow and then handed the tow over to "Appleby", AWB then resuming escort duty.

AWB Escorting Dunkirk Little Ships from Ramsgate to Dunkirk. Diverted from escort to the Dunkirk vessel "Lurline" in difficulties, taking in water, with steering failure and a fire on board. AWB took "Lurline" in tow and put a salvage pump on board. Pump controlled water inflow and casualty crew stabilised the situation and extinguished the fire. AWB towed "Lurline" on into Dunkirk.

Both lifeboats launched to attend the yacht "Ailaire" as she re-floated on the tide at the North Goodwin Sands. ILB passed a tow line from the AWB to "Ailaire", which re-floated without incident. After confirming that all was well on the casualty and there was no damage to her hull, she continued on her passage to the Isle-of-Wight.

AWB took "Blue Trout" in tow and layed with her on No.2 berth in the ferry terminal until the tide made sufficiently to bring her into the Royal Harbour.

The yacht "Sea Breeze", with two persons called HMCG requesting assistance when she started making water whilst on passage Margate to Ramsgate. On arrival AWB crew member was put on board the casualty and cleared a fouled bilge pump. AWB took "Sea Breeze" in tow in to Ramsgate.
48 - 11/07/05 Catamaran "Kikuyu"

HMCG requested launch of the AWB to the Catamaran "Kikuyu", on passage to Ramsgate. "Kikuyu" had failure of her boom and there was some concern that one of her hulls may have started to break up, which could result in total rigging collapse. "Kikuyu" had settled on the best course to ease stress and in consultation with the AWB Cox'n it was decided that she would proceed to Dover, a course to Ramsgate being potentially hazardous. AWB escorted "Kikuyu" to near the SE Goodwin, where Dover AWB took over the escort in to Dover.

The yacht "Kenavo" with two persons called Ramsgate Marina saying that she was in the harbour with a fouled propeller and unable to get out of the way of an incoming ferry. Harbour Staff alerted Port Control and an ILB launch was initiated , HMCG being advised. The workboat "Bumble" heard the VHF traffic and proceeded to the assistance of "Kenavo", getting a line on board her. As "Bumble" towed "Kenavo" in to the Royal Harbour the ILB arrived to escort.

The Motor Yacht "Lady Gina" was alongside the outside of the East Marina southern breakwater when she suffered a sudden ingress of water. "Lady Gina" called the port control requesting assistance as her pump could not cope. AWB launch was initiated, HMCG being advised. AWB put her salvage pump on to "Lady Gina" , controlling the water ingress whilst she towed "Lady Gina" to the Harbour Authority's boat hoist for lifting out.

The motor yacht "Plus One", with four persons called the port control requesting assistance after experiencing a fouled propeller just south of the port. AWB launch was initiated and HMCG advised. AWB towed "Plus One" in to Ramsgate.
55 - 23/07/05 Motor Yacht "Glevan"

HMCG requested launch of the AWB after a request for assistance from the Motor Yacht "Glevan", with five persons, taking water ENE of the North East Goodwin. The passing yacht "Paula" stood by until the arrival of the AWB. On scene, AWB took all persons off "Glevan" and put two crew on board with pumps to stem the inflow. However, the water ingress was too great and the lifeboat crew were taken off the casualty as she listed and started to sink. AWB returned to Ramsgate with survivors.

HMCG requested launch of the AWB to meet and take over towage of the sloop "Trinath", with four persons on board. "Trinath" had suffered engine failure. Whilst sailing towards Ramsgate weather had worsened, and some crew began to suffer from seasickness. With adverse winds and unfavorable current the situation was deteriorating with potentially serious consequences. Walton lifeboat had self-launched to the casualty and took her in tow when HMCG decided to ask Ramsgate to take over. AWB towed "Trinath" in to Ramsgate.

The yacht "Janita", with three persons, called the port control requesting assistance after experiencing engine failure whilst near the Elbow Buoy. HMCG was consulted and an AWB launch initiated. AWB towed "Janita" in to Ramsgate.
62 - 15/08/05 Yacht "Pott 40"

HMCG requested launch of AWB to attend the Yacht "Pott40", with six persons, which had put out a PAN message for medical assistance after a crew member fell ill. The "Pott40" advised that the crew member was unconscious, not breathing and had stomach problems. ILB launched to render first aid whilst AWB remained alongside awaiting the arrival of para-medics who had been requested by the Port Control via a 999 call. ILB crew member went aboard "Pott40" and established that the person was breathing OK, and history indicated that he had choked on his own vomit when severely seasick. Man was made comfortable until the arrival of the para-medics on board the AWB at 13:51 hrs.
Two medics went on board the "Pott40" and dealt with the man whilst the AWB escorted the casualty in to Ramsgate Harbour, where the man was landed to ambulance.

A local boatman advised the port control that the catamaran “Dream Come True”, laying on the Eastern Marina Breakwater, was listing heavily to port. After consultation it was decided to launch the AWB to establish whether there was anyone on board the craft, and if anything could be done to avoid her capsize in the harbour.

74 - 20/11/05 Assistance to "E O D"

P.m of the 19th November, the local fishing vessel "Phoenix" reported raising a suspicious object in her gear. The object was lowered to the bottom and buoyed off pending advice from EOD. HMCG requested RNLI assistance in the operation. Launch was planned for the following morning in optimum tide conditions. AWB took the EOD team and their inflatable boat out to the scene.
AWB stood by on scene whilst EOD team examined the object, which was declared harmless. AWB returned EOD team and boat to Ramsgate Harbour.
76 - 20/11/05 Report of Red Flares

HMCG requested launch of the ILB following a telephoned report of a red flare in the Sandwich/Pegwell Bay area. Search commenced and AWB launched to search further off shore and to co-ordinate ILB operations, on advice from the RNLI launching authority. Search was eventually called off with nothing found and cause was logged as false alarm with malicious intent.
